The Perfect Location

The Perfect Location

Spanning the cities of Argyle and Northlake in Denton County, the Harvest home community is built on the firm foundation of a rich history. Strategically located in one of America’s fastest-growing counties, Argyle offers its residents the very best of small-town living, without sacrificing proximity to the big-city opportunities afforded by the nearby DFW metroplex.

A New Community in Argyle & Northlake

Historically, the town of Argyle has been a rich agricultural center, as proven by the land on which Harvest now resides. This thriving plot of farmland was purchased in 1860 by some of the earliest residents of Denton Country, the Faught family. Generations of the Faughts nurtured the soil and the community, their ownership extending up until 2006. Read More

We’re proud of the fact that the original Faught family farmhouse still stands in the center of the Harvest community as a testament to their stewardship, having been restored and repurposed as Farmhouse Coffee & Treasures. We love hosting the Faught family reunions, and their personal tales add depth and humor to the collective narrative of our Harvest development in Argyle and Northlake. Read Less

From Field to Community

From Field to Community

We joined forces with Realty Capital in 2011 to start the Harvest project,  and after careful planning and development, welcomed our first residents in 2013. The response was nothing short of incredible, and the development has since grown beyond any of our expectations.

Thanks to four strategic acquisitions, we’ve expanded from an initial 3,000 homes to over 4,000. It’s a testament to our community’s appeal that we celebrated our 10th anniversary in October 2023 and anticipate selling all available homes by 2028.

Harvest: DFW's First Agrihood

Harvest: DFW's First Agrihood

The selection of this precious plot of land was no accident. Hillwood Communities prides itself on its thorough research and respectful collaboration. In this case, that research led us to a plot of farmland whose rich history was undeniable. Our mission was to create a harmonious blend of past and present, to honor the land’s heritage by preserving its identity while introducing modern comforts.

In a salute to the land’s farming history and responding to the growing demand for clean, locally-sourced food, we developed a unique feature: a six-acre farm at the heart of the community. This decision turned Harvest into DFW’s first “agrihood,” an innovation that places an emphasis on a farm-to-table lifestyle. We offer a variety of housing options amidst an atmosphere that nurtures a close-knit community and promotes sustainable living.
