At Harvest, living a bountiful life also means sharing our bounty with North Texans in need through partnerships with North Texas Food Bank and Tarrant Area Food Bank. In 2020, our community donated 25,640 meals to North Texas Food Bank, and in 2021, that increased to 52,702! Since our first residents moved here in 2014, our community has donated more than 200,000 meals to the North Texas Food Bank.
As of Summer 2023, Harvest has been partnering with Tarrant Area Food Bank to best serve our local community.
Tarrant Area Food Bank
While holiday food drives and other seasonal events are an important role in the food bank’s outreach efforts, we don’t wait for the holidays to help those in need. From two dedicated fields that Farmer Ross cultivates to five gardening plots designated for homeowners to manage, we regularly share fresh produce with Tarrant Area Food Bank. In addition, canned goods are often the price of admission for Harvest events, and neighborhood scavenger hunts give our kids a chance to have fun while collecting canned goods. We also raise financial contributions through such events as our Run Now, Gobble Later turkey trot event, making the most of every dollar by making our donations on #GivingTuesday to secure matching funds.
