At Harvest, living a bountiful life also means sharing our bounty with North Texans in need. In 2020, our community donated 25,640 meals, and in 2021, that increased to 52,702! Since our first residents moved here in 2014, our community has donated more than 189,074 meals to the North Texas Food Bank — a number that grows with each passing month. It’s a moving reminder that we are all better when we come together.
The North Texas Food Bank
While holiday food drives and other seasonal events are an important role in the food bank’s outreach efforts, we don’t wait for the holidays to help those in need. From two dedicated fields that Farmer Ross cultivates to five gardening plots designated for homeowners to manage, we regularly share fresh produce with the North Texas Food Bank. In addition, canned goods are often the price of admission for Harvest events, and neighborhood scavenger hunts give our kids a chance to have fun while collecting canned goods. We also raise financial contributions through such events as our Run Now, Gobble Later turkey trot event, making the most of every dollar by making our donations on #GivingTuesday to secure matching funds.
