The new home community at Harvest by Hillwood was intentionally designed to create a relaxed, welcoming place where people are drawn together to meet, get acquainted, and form the bonds of friendship that can last for years.
In fact, all facets of Hillwood’s new home communities, not just Harvest, are thoughtfully considered during the design process to create not just ordinary neighborhoods, but extraordinary places where neighbors can share common interests. We strive to create the sense of community that allows you to truly feel at home.
Even before laying the groundwork for our communities, we look at the ideals that bring people together. Every feature of Harvest’s design is purposely created to foster everyday interactions that serve as the catalyst for connections between individuals, families, and neighborhoods. Such interactions might occur on the way to the mailbox, on a walking trail, at one of Harvest’s amenities, or at a planned community event.
Opportunities for social interaction are not only nice—they’re vital. Studies have linked loneliness with increased risks in heart disease, stroke, and dementia, so it’s important to create a community where people have plenty of opportunities to connect.
At Harvest, our intentionally designed walkways, gathering places, and amenities facilitate spontaneous encounters, foster shared interests, and help create community in every sense. Here are some of Harvest’s amenities where so many Harvest residents have formed lasting friendships.
We took the one-hundred-year-old farmhouse that has stood on the grounds for decades and lovingly converted it into a coffee shop. Now, this cozy corner is the perfect spot to meet up for a cup of coffee or lemonade, to shop for special gifts, or just visit with friends.
The crown jewel of the property, the Harvest Farm represents everything our agrihood stands for. Residents can work as much as they wish in the community garden and this is where so many Harvest homeowners bond over their love of gardening. In addition, residents can cultivate their own plots, chat with neighbors, take gardening classes, and (literally and figuratively) grow together as a community. The Harvest Farm is one of our most loved social amenities that truly unites residents and allows homeowners to know their community.
The barn is the perfect place to enjoy some outdoor fun. Make plans to meet neighbors or just show up and pick up a game. Shoot hoops and lawn games, or just enjoy the weather. There’s plenty of shade for when it’s hot and fire pits to keep you warm when it’s not.
Multiple resort-style pools make for the perfect place to relax, soak, and visit with neighbors. Even when it’s too cold to swim, the pool areas enhance the beautiful scenery and are lovely places to gather.
The parks and trails at Harvest make it the perfect walkable community, with plenty of green spaces just a short distance from your home. Take a walk with neighbors or stop for a chat as you cross paths.
Enjoy community exercise classes in a serene outdoor space or work off some stress in the adjacent workout facility. Practice yoga with others, work out with friends, and get connected while you get your heart pumping.
An 11-acre lake serves as the perfect spot for catch-and-release fishing, walking with neighbors, or just enjoying the view.
Kids need to connect, too! The central play area is specially designed to encourage connection, collaboration, and purposeful play.
Need more outdoor exercise? The brand new Fit Barn offers both outdoor and indoor workout areas, including an indoor equipment room, fitness lawn, pool, volleyball court, and basketball court. Join up with workout buddies here or meet new friends as you get fit together.
There’s no better way to meet people than to strike up a conversation about their dog. The dog park makes this easy and fun. Enjoy a visit with neighbors while the dogs play!
Structural amenities aren’t the only way to get to know your community and neighbors. Harvest’s award-winning lifestyle program offers plenty of opportunities to get out and meet people. When it comes to finding ways to connect with the community, many people have questions on where to start. Here are some of the most frequently asked questions.
Social interaction is important to coping with stress, avoiding health problems, and improving quality of life. A community that interacts through social amenities and events tends to be a healthier community.
Community planning is intentional design to support the health and happiness of residents as well as economic and environmental sustainability. Hillwood communities like Harvest are deliberately planned to spark spontaneous encounters and foster shared interests, creating community in every sense.
There are so many ways to know your community and interact with it. Connecting with your community can be as simple as waving or saying hi to a neighbor. Participating in community events is another great way to interact with your fellow residents.
